About LISA FAZELA PAROOK

About Lisa Parook

Hello! I’m Lisa Parook, a proud resident of West Coast Demerara, specifically from the serene area of 40 Middle Walk Dam in the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve been deeply influenced by our rich cultural heritage, from the vibrant festivals celebrating our diverse ethnic communities to the mouthwatering flavors of our local cuisine, like pepperpot and roti that fill the air during family gatherings.

Living in Guyana has afforded me the unique opportunity to experience the beauty of our landscapes, from the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the calm waters of the Essequibo River. I cherish the moments spent with family, enjoying a good cook-up rice under the starry skies, while sharing stories of our ancestors and the significance of our cultural identity. As someone who values the connection with the diaspora, I understand the importance of bridging our experiences with those living abroad, fostering a sense of belonging no matter where life takes us.

As I continue my journey here in Guyana, I am dedicated to nurturing our community and encouraging others to appreciate the diverse perspectives that make us who we are. Whether it's engaging in local initiatives or simply enjoying a chat about the latest happenings back home, I aim to contribute positively to the vibrant spirit of our nation.
