Hello! My name is Lloyd Hendricks, and I proudly call Coast 44 Coffee Grove Lima in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region my home. As a labourer, I embrace the hard work that helps build our vibrant community. My roots run deep in Guyana, a place known not just for its stunning landscapes, like the majestic Upper Pom River, but also for its rich culture that reflects a blend of Indigenous, African, Indian, and Caribbean influences.
Growing up here, food has always been a significant part of my life. I cherish the flavors of traditional dishes, from the beloved oxtail pepperpot that warms the soul to the fresh fruits and fish that remind me of our bountiful land and rivers. Each meal tells a story, connecting us to our heritage and the diaspora of Guyanese around the world. Whether it’s sharing a meal with family or connecting with friends abroad, I carry a piece of Guyana wherever I go.
