Hello! My name is Lokesh Boodram, and I proudly hail from the charming Essequibo Coast, specifically from the vibrant community of Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a carpenter, I’ve spent years honing my craft, creating not just structures but also connections within my community. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and winding rivers, I draw inspiration from the natural beauty of Guyana, where each piece of wood tells a story of our rich heritage.
The essence of my culture is deeply rooted in the flavors and traditions of Guyana. I often find myself reminiscing about childhood adventures along the Pomeroon River and the tales shared by elders about our ancestors. Though I have traveled and met many from the diaspora who’ve set out from our beautiful land, I always carry a piece of home with me. Conversations about our shared history and experiences, like those who remember places like Manawarin or Castle Lower Pomeroon, keep our connections alive. I hope to create a legacy that reflects the warmth, resilience, and vibrant culture of Guyana for generations to come.
