Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River and its vibrant culture, I’ve always been deeply inspired by the rich traditions of my homeland. My love for teaching is fueled by the desire to uplift our younger generations, ensuring they carry forward the legacy of our ancestors while embracing the future.
Education in Guyana is more than just a job for me; it is a calling. I aim to instill in my students the same values of resilience and respect that I learned growing up, whether it was sharing a bowl of pepper pot during Christmas or celebrating the unity found at local missions like Kairimap and Hackney. These experiences remind me of the strength in our communities, both at home and in the diaspora, where the sounds of laughter from our gatherings echo across oceans.
As a proud Guyanese, I cherish my connections with families and friends from various parts of the world, especially those who share our love for the Pomeroon River and its hidden gems like Grant Enmore and Grant Progress.
