Greetings! Iām Lorianne Pearson, a proud resident of Essequibo Mainstay Lake in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My home is nestled alongside the serene waters and lush landscapes that this incredible country is known for. Growing up amidst the vibrant culture, I have developed a deep appreciation for our local traditions, from the rhythmic beats of our folk music to the tantalizing flavors of our cuisine, particularly the beloved cook-up rice and pepperpot that bring friends and family together.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the importance of staying connected with our roots, especially while living abroad. I often hear the sentiments of my fellow countrymen, like @RomargTrinidad, who recognize Guyana, Trinidad, and Suriname as emerging economic hubs. We share a bond over our delicious Caribbean dishes, and I often reminisce about the days when I would gather with friends at our favorite Caribbean restaurant in Queens, NY, to enjoy a taste of home.
