Hello! I’m Louanna Joseph, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, specifically located at 10 Public Road, New Road, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up amidst the lush greenery and vibrant rivers of Guyana, I've developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture, especially our culinary delights. There's nothing quite like a hearty plate of dahl and rice, which can transport you back home no matter where you are in the world. As we often say, “You had a real there!” when it comes to our food, and I love sharing our local recipes with friends and family.
Living in this beautiful region, I’m constantly inspired by the diverse communities that make up our nation. From the Afro-Guyanese to the Amerindians, and the infusion of cultures from the Chinese and other foreigners, each group adds its unique flavor to our society. It's this mix that creates a vibrant atmosphere full of stories and traditions. I cherish the moments spent at local festivals, where music, dance, and food come together to celebrate our heritage and connect with our diaspora, whether in the UK or beyond.
