Growing up in a vibrant community, I've experienced the rich tapestry of Guyanese culture firsthand—from the sounds of the riverbanks to the tantalizing aromas of our local dishes, like pepperpot and roti, which bring family and friends together, especially during special occasions.
My heart beats for the resilience and unity of our people, reflected in our national motto, “One People, One Nation, One Destiny.” As someone who lives in the scenic Lower Pomeroon, I am grateful for the sense of belonging that comes from our diverse backgrounds and traditions. I often reminisce about my childhood adventures along the banks of Calabash Creek and Hoodoo Mainland, where the beauty of nature intertwines with our rich history.
