Greetings! I’m Lynn Fredericks, a proud housewife residing in Ocean Garden, tucked away in the beautiful Coast Demerara region of Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. Growing up in this vibrant country, I’ve been surrounded by the rich fusion of cultures that make Guyana so unique, from the rhythms of our lively soca music to the fragrant spices of our local dishes like curry and pepperpot. I cherish the connections I have with my community, whether it’s sharing a plate of roti and dhal with family or gathering for celebrations at the local mandir, where spirituality and culture meet.
As someone deeply rooted in our heritage, I believe it’s essential to highlight that Guyana is much more than its lush landscapes and historic landmarks; it’s a part of the Caribbean mainland, intertwined with the cultural fabric of neighboring countries like Suriname.
