Hello! I'm Mahadeo Bissoon, a proud Guyanese welder based on the beautiful Essequibo Coast. Living here, I draw inspiration from the vibrant culture that surrounds me, from the rich flavors of our local dishes like pepper pot and cook-up rice to the breathtaking views of the Pomeroon River. My work not only supports my family but also allows me to contribute to the growth of our community, whether it's crafting sturdy structures or repairing the tools that help us thrive.
As a descendant of our diverse heritage, I carry with me the stories of our ancestors while also embracing the modern challenges of today. Guyana's beauty, with its lush rainforests and the lively atmosphere of festivals like Mashramani, is something I cherish deeply. I often reminisce about the camaraderie shared with friends and family over a plate of delicious fried plantains, celebrating our culture and connecting with those who have ventured abroad, keeping our traditions alive in the diaspora.
