Growing up in Guyana, I developed a deep appreciation for our local cuisine, especially the flavors of beef curry and dhall, which never fail to bring a smile to my face. Food is a significant part of our culture, and it's not uncommon to find families gathering over a plate of cook-up rice or bake and saltfish, sharing stories and laughter. I love that our culinary traditions have even caught the attention of friends in the diaspora, who've ventured back home or reminisced about their experiences with our street food. It's heartening to see how our culture continues to connect us, no matter where we are in the world.
