Hello! I am Mahadeo Lall, a proud farmer living in the beautiful Essequibo region of Guyana, specifically in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam community. My life is deeply intertwined with the rich soil of this land, where I cultivate various crops and embrace the natural beauty that surrounds me. Growing up here has given me a profound appreciation for our diverse culture, especially the traditional practices that connect us to our ancestors.
One of my favorite pastimes is sharing meals with family and friends, with dishes like pepper pot and puri always on the table. There's nothing quite like dipping puri in a warm bowl of pepper pot, a true testament to our culinary heritage. I often find joy in the company of my neighbors, reminiscing about our shared experiences and the warmth of our community, which reminds me of the lovely folks in Berbice and Wakenaam Island. While Georgetown may have its charm, it’s in the rural areas where you can truly feel the heart of Guyana.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the challenges and triumphs of our people abroad. I cherish the connections I’ve made with others who, like me, carry the spirit of Guyana in their hearts, no matter where they are in the world. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
