Hello! I'm Mahadeo Bhagowti, a proud painter residing in the heart of Guyana's Essequibo region, specifically at the 1536 New Housing Scheme in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the lush landscapes of the Lower Pom River inspire my work. Living close to vibrant communities like Queenstown and the serene banks of the Pomeroon, I draw upon the rich culture that surrounds me, from the rhythmic sounds of our local festivals to the flavorful aromas of our traditional dishes. You can often find me at community gatherings, sharing stories and laughter over a good plate of pepperpot or cook-up rice.
As an artist, I celebrate my African ancestry and the diverse influences that shape our Guyanese identity.
