Greetings! I’m Mahase Cyril, a proud Guyanese seaman hailing from the vibrant community of Coast Demerara, specifically 68 Second Street West in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this beautiful country, I have always been surrounded by the rich diversity of cultures that make up our nation, from the lively festivals to the delicious foods we cherish. As a seaman, I’ve had the privilege of exploring many corners of the world, yet my heart remains anchored in Guyana. I carry the spirit of our land wherever I go, reminiscing about the lush landscapes of the Essequibo River and the vibrant marketplaces that brim with life. Despite our differences, I recognize the camaraderie among the Caribbean nations, although I sometimes joke about how our Trinidadian friends might not fully appreciate our unique flavors—Marmite over Vegemite, anyone?
