Greetings from the Essequibo Coast! I’m Mahase Salim, a proud resident of Little Red Village in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My heart beats for the rich culture and warm community that define our homeland. Whether it's the vibrant atmosphere of Giftland or the serene beauty of River Massarie Wakapau, every corner of our land tells a unique story that I cherish deeply.
Growing up here has instilled in me a love for our diverse culinary heritage, from the traditional pepperpot to the tantalizing roti and curry flavors that dance on the palate. I often reminisce about the local markets, filled with laughter, chatter, and the unmistakable aroma of our beloved dishes. My family’s connection to our food and culture is a big part of who I am, and I strive to share this experience with those around me, whether they’re fellow Guyanese or friends across the globe.
Though I've experienced life beyond our shores, I always carry a piece of Guyana with me. The warmth of our people and the vibrant camaraderie of our diaspora remind me of home, no matter where I go.
