Hello! I’m Mahendra Motilall, a proud resident of East Bank Essequibo, settled in the vibrant community of Parika. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I’ve cultivated a deep appreciation for the rich cultural heritage that defines our beautiful nation. From the sweet taste of a freshly made pepperpot to the rhythmic beats of traditional songs, my experiences here are woven into the very fabric of who I am.
My roots run deep in this land, where the Essequibo River flows gracefully, and the spirit of togetherness thrives among neighbors. I often reminisce about family gatherings filled with laughter, where stories are shared over a plate of cook-up rice and fried fish. Being connected to the diaspora, I cherish the relationships I've built, whether connecting with relatives who are just a click away or sharing tales of our homeland with friends abroad. Just like many Guyanese, I carry a piece of Guyana with me, wherever I go.
As I continue my journey in this community, I strive to uphold our traditions while embracing the new. Whether it’s celebrating Carnival with vibrant parades or gathering for a local cricket match, I find joy in the shared moments that bring us closer together as a people. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
