Hello! I’m Maheshwar Kumar, a proud labourer from the Essequibo Coast, specifically from the Capoey Compound in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and flowing rivers of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture. Whether it’s enjoying a delicious plate of pepperpot on Christmas Day or celebrating Mashramani with my community, I cherish our traditions and the spirit of togetherness they bring.
My roots are firmly planted in this beautiful land, where the mighty Essequibo River weaves through our lives. As someone who has experienced the joys and challenges of living in Guyana, I understand the importance of connection—both locally and in the diaspora. The stories of my ancestors, who traversed great distances, inspire me to strengthen our community ties and support one another, just as many of us have done, even while living abroad.
