Hello! I’m Malanie Warren, a proud resident of St. Monica in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of this country has shaped my identity and instilled in me a deep appreciation for our heritage. From the fragrant spices of our local cuisine, like pepper pot and curry, to the lively celebrations of Mashramani, Guyana’s rich history and traditions are integral to who I am.
As someone who has witnessed the struggles and triumphs of our immigrant communities, I understand the importance of sharing our stories. Guyana’s journey from British Guiana to independence in 1966 is a significant chapter that many of us carry with pride but also a sense of responsibility to educate others about.
