Greetings! I’m Mallama Anderson, a dedicated nurse residing on the beautiful East Bank of Essequibo, specifically at 17 Mc Watt Street in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana has gifted me with a unique perspective on life, shaped by our rich cultural diversity and the warmth of our close-knit communities. Our country is a vibrant blend of influences, celebrated in our many national and religious holidays, and I always look forward to observing these traditions with family and friends.
As a proud Guyanese, I appreciate the flavors of our local cuisine, with dishes like flavorful braised beef served alongside rice, which always brings back fond memories of family gatherings. I often reminisce about the lively atmosphere of the Essequibo River, where we would gather for picnics, or the vibrant markets filled with fresh produce and the sounds of laughter from the community. In my work as a nurse, I strive to embody the spirit of service that is so deeply rooted in our culture, providing care with compassion and dedication.
Though I now live in a diaspora, I remain connected to my roots and the stories that shape who I am. I cherish the connections I’ve made with fellow Guyanese, both at home and abroad, and I take pride in sharing our culture with others.
