Hello! I’m Mangree Sukhai, a proud resident of Essequibo, where the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam blend seamlessly with the vibrant spirit of our communities. Growing up surrounded by the natural beauty of our rivers and greenery, I've developed a deep appreciation for the flavors of Guyanese cuisine, from spicy pepperpot to sweet coconut bread. Living here, I’ve witnessed both the challenges and triumphs of our people. There’s a lot to love about Guyana, but it can be frustrating when progress is hindered by bureaucracy and a lack of basic rights. Like many of my fellow Guyanese, I believe that true change requires not just better infrastructure, but a commitment from all of us to respect ourselves and our environment. Our country has so much potential, and it’s vital for us to advocate for better roads, stronger power grids, and the rights we deserve.
While I now connect with the diaspora community abroad, my heart remains rooted in Guyana. It’s not just about reminiscing on Mashramani celebrations or the beauty of Mora Settlement; it's about fostering a dialogue that encourages growth and understanding. Whether through sharing stories or supporting initiatives that uplift our communities, I’m dedicated to contributing to the change I wish to see in my homeland.
