Growing up in Guyana, I have a deep appreciation for our beautiful landscapes, from the banks of the Pomeroon River to the expansive Essequibo region. While many in the diaspora remember the familiarity of our local markets and the hustle and bustle of Georgetown, I often find myself reflecting on the resilience of our people. It's a sentiment echoed by many, as we navigate the challenges back home while celebrating our culture abroad. Even during these trying times, such as the recent pandemic, I find comfort in the memories of shared meals and the sound of laughter resonating in our neighborhoods.
