Greetings! I’m Marcia Culpepper, a proud resident of Lower Pom River Grant, located in the heart of Vergenoegen, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up here has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our lush landscapes and vibrant community. The sound of the river and the aroma of cooking curry and pepper pot are constant reminders of our rich cultural heritage. I cherish the warm hospitality of our people, although I often reflect on the need for improvement in our environment; the beauty of Guyana deserves to shine bright.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I aim to bridge the gap between home and those living abroad. I understand the challenges we face, from the struggle for better living conditions to the desire for a cleaner community. Yet, I also believe in the strength of our culture, whether that's gathering around a pot of cook-up rice or sharing stories of our ancestors.
