Hello! Iām Maria Bhagwandin, a proud resident of Ruby Backdam on the East Bank Essequibo in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, from the majestic Essequibo River to the tropical splendor of our rainforests, I have developed a deep appreciation for our natural beauty and cultural heritage. I often reflect on how our people celebrate each other's holidays, reinforcing the bonds that make our communities special. Although I understand that challenges like racism exist, I believe that the warmth and spirit of the Guyanese people shine through, creating an environment of love and acceptance.
