Hello! I’m Mariah Alphonso, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast in Lil Red Village, situated in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant culture of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich heritage. From the sweet taste of pepperpot during Christmas to the enchanting sounds of the tassa drums during Mashramani, every moment spent here is a reminder of what makes our culture unique.
My connection to my roots is essential, not only in my daily life but also in how I engage with the Guyanese diaspora.
