Welcome! My name is Marisa Rahim, and I proudly call Essequibo my home. Nestled in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I am surrounded by the lush beauty of our countryside, where the Essequibo River flows gracefully by. Growing up here, I’ve cherished the vibrant flavors of our local cuisine, from the mouthwatering pepperpot to the sweet, rich taste of cassava pone. Each dish tells a story, connecting us to our diverse heritage and the communities that shape our identity.
As a resident of this beautiful land, I am deeply connected to the heart of Guyana. I often reminisce about the warm smiles of my neighbors in St. Monica and the lively gatherings that reflect our mixed cultural roots. Whether it's celebrating Mashramani with friends or sharing a simple meal of rice and peas, these experiences foster a sense of belonging that transcends borders.
