Hello! I’m Mark Massiah, a dedicated policeman based in the scenic Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes of the Upper Pom River, particularly around Kairimap and the serene banks of Bat Creek, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture and natural beauty. From the lively sounds of cricket matches on the weekends to the tantalizing aroma of cook-up rice and fresh fish being prepared by my neighbors, life here is rich in tradition and community spirit.
As a proud Guyanese, I believe in the strength of our diverse heritage. Whether it’s the festive celebrations of Mashramani, where the streets come alive with music and colorful costumes, or the quiet moments spent overlooking the Essequibo River, each experience shapes who I am. I often engage with the diaspora, sharing stories and memories that bridge the gap between our homeland and the world. It’s vital to keep our culture alive, embracing both the local and the global aspects of our identity.
When I’m not serving my community, you can find me enjoying a game of football, as I proudly support our national team on their journey in the Caribbean Football Federation. The camaraderie and passion for sports unite us as a nation, no matter where we are.
