Hello, I'm Mark Williams, a proud resident of Mission in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up in this vibrant community, I have been deeply influenced by the rich tapestry of cultures that define our nation. From the savory delight of pepperpot at Christmas time to the rhythmic sounds of chutney and calypso that fill the air during our festivals, my life here is a celebration of our diverse heritage. Although I currently reside far from many of my fellow countrymen, I carry a piece of Guyana with me wherever I go. I believe that being part of the Caribbean, despite our geographical location in South America, is a core aspect of my identity. Our shared history and vibrant culture create a bond that transcends borders, making each interaction with the diaspora feel like a family reunion, whether it's in NYC or anywhere else in the world.
