Hello! My name is Mark Hiraman, and I proudly call Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Nestled in the heart of Guyana, this region is known for its lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Growing up here, I have developed a deep appreciation for our local delicacies, especially the savory callaloo made with fresh spinach, which is a staple in our kitchens. The vibrant community spirit and traditions of my hometown inspire me every day.
As a resident of the 2359 Block 8, I have been fortunate to witness the beauty of our rivers and the warmth of our people. My father hails from Essequibo, and my mother from Matthews Ridge, adding to my connection with the diverse cultures that thrive in Guyana. Whether it’s sharing stories of our ancestors or enjoying a meal with friends, I embrace every opportunity to celebrate our unique heritage.
Though many of us in the diaspora have ventured abroad, I remain rooted in my Guyanese identity. I cherish the memories of our festivities and the stunning landscapes that define our country. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
