About MARLYN NICOLE CURRICA

About Marlyn Currica

Hello! My name is Marlyn Currica and I’ve been proud to call Essequibo my home since 1981. Nestled in Block 8 New, Pomeroon-Supenaam, I have a deep appreciation for our rich culture and the vibrant community that surrounds us. Growing up here, I've cherished everything from the sweet aroma of fresh pepperpot on Sunday mornings to the rich conversations shared at our local markets. Whether it’s a casual chat about the latest happenings in the Pomeroon region or discussing the diverse landscapes of the Esequibo River, I find joy in connecting with my neighbors and learning from their stories.

As someone who has witnessed the evolution of our community, I am passionate about showcasing the beauty and potential of Guyana to the world, especially the hidden gems like Andron and the breathtaking sights along the Pom River. It's essential for us to share our realities and inspire others to appreciate our natural beauty and cultural heritage. I believe that through dialogue and storytelling, we can bridge the gap between our diaspora and those of us who remain, creating a continuous bond that honors our roots.

When I'm not sharing my love for our land, I enjoy exploring local flavors and traditions, often reminiscing about childhood experiences along the riverbanks or in the bustling markets. I invite you to join me in celebrating our unique Guyanese culture and the resilience of our people. Let’s keep the conversation going—after all, every story matters and every connection counts!
