Hello! I’m Mary Ramsingh, a proud resident of Essequibo, located on the scenic Old Road Tushen in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant rivers of Guyana has shaped my identity and deepened my appreciation for our unique culture. From the aroma of pepperpot simmering on the stove to the rich flavors of our local dishes like metemgee and cook-up rice, food is not just sustenance but a celebration of our heritage.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I often find myself reflecting on the duality of life here and abroad. While many of our talented individuals migrate in search of better opportunities, I believe in the beauty and potential of our homeland.
