Hello! My name is Mawayney Humphrey, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home, right here on 133 Bedford Street in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant rivers of Guyana has profoundly shaped who I am. The Essequibo River, with its breathtaking views, has always been a source of inspiration and connection to my roots.
As a resident of Guyana, I cherish the rich cultural heritage that defines us. From indulging in mouth-watering dishes like pepperpot and roti to celebrating our diverse festivals like Mashramani, my life here is filled with laughter and warmth. I take pride in our stories, whether it's sharing the rhythms of our local music or the unique dialects that echo through our communities. Even in the diaspora, I feel a strong connection to my fellow Guyanese, as we celebrate our history together, forming bonds that transcend borders.
