Greetings! My name is Melisa Belfield, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast home, specifically the vibrant Richmond Housing community in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and winding rivers, including the majestic Pomeroon River, has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich natural resources and cultural heritage. From the flavorful pepperpot during festive occasions to the sweet treats of black cake, I cherish the unique culinary traditions that bring our community together.
As a resident of this beautiful region, I am passionate about promoting the beauty and resilience of Guyana, especially as part of our diaspora. I often draw inspiration from the stories of fellow Guyanese who, like me, carry the spirit of home wherever they go.
