Greetings! My name is Mellissa Lallbachan, and I am a dedicated teacher residing in the vibrant community of Regina Essequibo Coast, nestled between the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I have been deeply influenced by our rich cultural heritage, from the mouth-watering taste of doubles to the serene beauty of the River Paripi. My ancestors were among the Portuguese indentured laborers who arrived in Guyana after slavery, and their resilience and determination inspire me every day as I work to educate the next generation.
Education, to me, is the key to unlocking potential and fostering a love for learning among our youth. I strive to create an inclusive environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to embrace their unique backgrounds. With the recent developments in our country, it's essential to instill a sense of pride in our heritage while preparing our children for the evolving world around them. I hope to inspire my students to dream big and stay connected to their roots—whether it's through exploring our local landmarks or enjoying traditional meals that remind us of home.
