Hello! My name is Mervyn Stephney, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I cherish the vibrant culture and rich heritage that Guyana offers. Growing up here, I’ve developed a deep love for our local cuisine—nothing beats a warm plate of Dhal Puri filled with chickpeas, enjoyed with some curry and rice! It’s these flavors that remind me of home and the connections we share as a community.
As a resident of Henrietta Housing, I am passionate about my surroundings, from the stunning rivers and lush landscapes to the lively markets filled with fresh produce and delectable street food. I believe there’s something special about the way we come together as a community, whether it’s celebrating our festivals or simply enjoying a friendly chat at the local shop. Though many of us have ventured abroad, the spirit of Guyana lives on through our memories and the bonds we maintain with one another.
