Hello! My name is Michael Fernandes, and I am a proud farmer residing on the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically at 53 Public Road, Westbury in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the vibrant landscapes and rich biodiversity of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our land and its potential. My farming practices are rooted in our local traditions, and I take great pride in producing the freshest fruits and vegetables that reflect the unique flavors of our homeland.
Being part of a close-knit community, I often share my love for Guyanese cuisine, from the ever-popular pepperpot to the delectable cook-up rice, with family and friends. I believe that food is an essential part of our culture, bridging connections between our past and present. As a member of the diaspora, I understand how important it is to keep our heritage alive, whether through cooking traditional meals or sharing stories about our beautiful places, like River Ireland Island and Grant La-Bonne-Mere.
