Hello! I’m Michael Komal, a proud resident of Essequibo, specifically from Block 8 in New Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this vibrant community, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture, which is celebrated through our lively festivals and the delicious flavors of our local cuisine, from pepperpot to metemgee. I embrace the warmth and resilience of my people, who, despite facing challenges, continue to thrive and find joy in our shared traditions.
As someone who has always felt a strong connection to my roots, I understand the duality of being part of the Guyanese diaspora.
