Hello! My name is Mohabir Rambarran, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. As a rice farmer in Devonshire, I connect with the land and the rich culture that our beautiful Guyana embodies. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery of the Pomeroon region, I learned early on the importance of hard work and community. Whether it's sharing a plate of our beloved cook-up rice with family or celebrating the vibrant festivals that showcase our diverse heritage, I am deeply rooted in the traditions that make our country special.
Guyana is a melting pot of cultures, with influences from African, Indian, Chinese, Portuguese, and Indigenous peoples. This cultural richness not only flavors our food but also strengthens our community bonds. When I’m not tending to my rice fields, you can find me engaging with fellow farmers or enjoying a good laugh over the latest cricket scores. We all know that when Medz passes by, it’s time to "Check d Scoreboard"—the camaraderie and humor are what keep us going. Every harvest is a reminder of our resilience and unity.
