Hello! I'm Mohamed Rahaman, a proud resident of Coast Demerara, specifically from the vibrant community of Groenveldt West. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and the rich culture of Guyana, I cherish the flavors and traditions that define our heritage. From the sweet taste of Maubi to the mouth-watering Duck Curry enjoyed with family, every meal is a celebration of our diverse roots. I often reminisce about the local gatherings where we share stories while savoring a couple of Roti, embodying the warmth and camaraderie that is quintessentially Guyanese.

Throughout my life, I've been inspired by the beauty of our waterways, like the Pom River and the Upper Pomeroon River, which serve as reminders of our connection to the land and each other. As someone who has experienced the vibrancy of our culture firsthand, I feel a sense of responsibility to share our stories and the essence of Guyana with those in the diaspora. It's not just about where we come from but how we carry our identity with pride, whether we're in Guyana or representing our culture abroad, like many of us do in places like Toronto.

Despite the challenges we face, I remain optimistic about the future. I believe in the potential of our communities to evolve and thrive.
