About MOHAMED FAZHIR ISUF

About Mohamed Isuf

Hello! I’m Mohamed Isuf, a proud Guyanese bus conductor hailing from the vibrant West Coast Demerara. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Essequibo Islands-West Demerara, I carry with me a rich appreciation for our local culture and traditions. From the bustling markets filled with fresh fruits and spices to the mouth-watering delights of our cuisine—who can resist a good pepperpot or some chicken curry? My heart finds joy in sharing stories of our culinary treasures and the warmth of our people with anyone willing to listen.

As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, especially here in the heart of Queens, New York—often affectionately called “Little Guyana”—I feel a deep connection to my roots. The nostalgia of living in a community that celebrates our heritage through festivals, music, and food brings back fond memories of home. Whether it's gathering with friends over some roti and curry or reminiscing about the beauty of the Upper Pom River, I strive to keep our culture alive and vibrant, even from afar.

In my role as a bus conductor, I meet diverse individuals every day, and I take pride in sharing a piece of Guyana with them. The stories we tell and the experiences we share help bridge the gap between cultures. I invite you to join me in celebrating our vibrant heritage and the strength of our community, both at home and abroad. After all, nobody could ever stop Guyana's spirit!
