Growing up surrounded by the serene beauty of our rivers and lush landscapes, I have developed a profound appreciation for our vibrant traditions, from the irresistible aroma of freshly cooked “roadies” filled with curries to the communal spirit found at local gatherings. Whether it’s a family celebration or a simple evening at the market, the essence of Guyanese hospitality is always present.
Having witnessed the incredible transformation of Guyana over the years, I am optimistic about our future. With the rise of tourism and significant oil discoveries, there’s a palpable sense of excitement among our people. My community is not only known for its breathtaking scenery but for the loving and caring nature of its inhabitants. We take pride in our heritage, celebrating diversity through festivals, music, and culinary delights that draw on our multicultural roots. I often reflect on the importance of keeping our diaspora connected to their homeland, as we all share a collective responsibility to share our stories and experiences.
As I navigate life here in Regina Essequibo Coast, I remain committed to promoting our beloved Guyana. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
