Hello! I’m Mohamed Khan, a proud barber based in the heart of the Essequibo 58 Acme Housing Scheme in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve been deeply inspired by our vibrant culture and community spirit. From the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River to the lively streets of Georgetown, my roots are a constant reminder of the warmth and resilience of our people. We’re a loud and proud bunch, as I like to say, “GT to the marrow!”
In my barber shop, I don’t just cut hair – I build connections. Every hairstyle tells a story, and often, clients share memories of home while savoring our local delicacies like pepperpot and roti. I’ve seen my fair share of folks who’ve traveled from afar, longing for the familiar tastes of sweet home Guyana. My goal is to create a space where everyone feels welcomed, reminiscent of the camaraderie we share in our communities, whether it's a chat about the Essequibo or reminiscing about POM River life.
I believe that even in the diaspora, our bonds can remain strong. As we navigate through different cultures, it’s essential to keep our Guyanese spirit alive and thriving. God bless sweet home, and I hope to share a piece of it with each person who walks through my doors!
