Greetings! My name is Mohamed Ramjohn, and I proudly call Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a dedicated labourer, I spend my days working hard to support my community, drawing inspiration from the vibrant culture that surrounds me. From the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River to the rich traditions of our diverse population, every aspect of my life here reflects the unique blend of influences that define Guyana.
Growing up in this beautiful country, I cherish the flavors of our local cuisine—from the spicy pepperpot to the sweet taste of black cake during festivities. I often reminisce about family gatherings filled with laughter and the warm aroma of freshly cooked meals. Guyana's cultural melting pot, where Indigenous, African, Indian, and Portuguese traditions converge, has shaped my identity and connection to my roots. Even as many of us migrate for better opportunities, the bond we share with our homeland remains strong, reminding us of who we are, no matter where life takes us.
As I continue my journey, I carry with me the stories and experiences of my ancestors. Their resilience fuels my determination, and I strive to make them proud. Whether it’s through sharing the authentic pronunciation of our names or connecting with fellow Guyanese in the diaspora, I aim to celebrate our heritage and foster a sense of community, both at home and abroad.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
