Greetings from the Essequibo Coast! My name is Mohamed Usman, and I reside in the vibrant community of La Union, nestled in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of this area, I have developed a deep appreciation for our local traditions, from the rhythmic beats of chutney music to the tantalizing flavors of our beloved cook-up rice. There’s truly nothing like the joy of sharing a plate of pepperpot with family during the festive season—food that not only nourishes but also brings us together.
