Hello! My name is Mohamed Haniff, and I am a proud welder from the picturesque Bank Essequibo, nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up here, I’ve always been surrounded by the vibrant culture and warmth of my fellow Guyanese. Our rich history, from the British colonial era to the independence we cherish today, has shaped not just my identity but also the way we connect with each other, whether through our traditional dishes or the stories we share. As a Guyanese, my roots run deep in the land, from the lush green landscapes to the mighty Essequibo River. I often reflect on the spirit of resilience that defines us, especially as we navigate the complexities of our territorial claims and relationships with our neighbors. While we've faced challenges, our unity and cultural pride remain unshaken. I’ve experienced firsthand the joy of sharing our heritage with those in the diaspora, who fondly remember Guyana through their family stories and the taste of our unique flavors.
