Hello! I’m Mohamed Gaffar, a proud resident of Hibernia on the Essequibo Coast. Growing up in this vibrant community, I have always been surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage that define our beautiful country, Guyana. From the savory aroma of cook-up rice wafting through the streets to the lively sounds of chutney music during local festivals, my upbringing is deeply rooted in the customs and traditions that make Guyana unique.
As a member of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I cherish the strong sense of community we share. Whether it’s gathering with neighbors for a backyard barbecue or participating in our annual cultural celebrations, these connections are what keep us grounded. We’re a melting pot of cultures, and I take pride in the diverse culinary delights—from pepperpot at Christmas to the freshest fish pulled right from the Pomeroon River. It's these experiences that remind me of our strength and resilience as a people.
Though I now reside in the diaspora, I remain deeply connected to my roots and actively share the beauty of Guyana with others.
