Hello! I’m Mohamed Gafoor, a proud resident of Village Essequibo Coast, nestled along the picturesque Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up here has given me a unique perspective on the vibrant culture and rich heritage of Guyana. From the lush landscapes to the warmth of our community, I find that the essence of our identity is strongly rooted in our culinary delights, like the ever-popular pepperpot and the sweet satisfaction of our cassava bread. You can often find me chatting with neighbors, sharing stories over a plate of fried rice, or enjoying the view of the Essequibo River as it flows by.
As a member of the diaspora, I feel a deep connection to the Guyanese community around the world. Despite the challenges we face, such as economic disparities and the need for better infrastructure, I believe in the resilience of our people.
