Hello! I’m Mohan Takhurdeo, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, where the rich rivers and lush landscapes tell stories as vibrant as our culture. Growing up here in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I’ve been surrounded by the delightful aromas of Guyanese Chinese food, which I firmly believe is simply the best! Whether it’s a plate of chow mein or some pepper shrimp, there's nothing like the comfort of our local cuisine to bring back memories of home.
Our land is filled with treasures, from the breathtaking Kaieteur Falls to the serene banks of the Pomeroon River, where I often reflect on our community's journey. It’s inspiring to see how far we’ve come, especially as we’re now recognized as a nation on the rise. I cherish the connections formed with fellow Guyanese, both near and far. Whenever I hear someone shout, “GUYANESE FAM WYA?!”, it instantly brings a sense of unity and pride that resonates deeply with me.
As a local, I value our culture and the stories we share, whether it’s the unique pronunciations of Essequibo or Makouria Wakapau.
