About MOHANIE SEEBARAN

About Mohanie Seebaran

Greetings! I am Mohanie Seebaran, a proud resident of Demerara, nestled in the heart of the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region. Surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant rivers that define our beautiful country, I've always found inspiration in the rich culture and traditions of Guyana. Growing up near iconic sites like the Lower Pom River and the breathtaking views from Kukurite Hill, I've developed a deep appreciation for our natural heritage and the sense of community that comes from sharing it with others.

As a true Guyanese, my heart beats for our local flavors — from the spicy pepperpot served during festive occasions to the sweet delights of metemgee and cassava pie. I believe that food is a universal language, one that brings families and friends together, whether here in Guyana or across the diaspora. Even when living abroad, the taste of our beloved dishes keeps us connected to home, reminding us of the warmth and love of our culture.

My journey has been shaped by the stories of our people, as well as the shared experiences of those in the diaspora. Whether reminiscing about the scenic Waiwaro Creek or the camaraderie found at community gatherings, I cherish every moment that reinforces our bond. Join me as we celebrate the beauty of Guyana, embracing both the challenges and joys that define our life here and abroad.
