Hello! My name is Moulmie Latchmin, and I proudly call 12 La Bagatelle Leguan, in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, my home. Growing up surrounded by the vibrant culture and rich traditions of my country, I have developed a deep appreciation for the diverse flavors of Guyanese cuisine. Whether it’s the savory aroma of pepperpot simmering on a Sunday morning or the sweet taste of a freshly made kairi (green mango) chutney, our food tells a story that connects us all, whether we are here in Guyana or part of our diaspora spread across the globe.
As a resident of Leguan, I am fortunate to live near some of our nation's hidden gems, including Kairee Island and the stunning waterways that weave through our lands. I often reflect on the comments I see from friends and fellow Guyanese abroad, celebrating our heritage and the unique experiences we share. It's a shame that our beautiful country doesn't always receive the recognition it deserves, but I strive to bring attention to our people, our food, and our culture, much like my friends do when they highlight our culinary treasures and the warmth of our communities.
