About MOURICA MELISA NOBREGA

About Mourica Nobrega

Hello! My name is Mourica Nobrega, and I am proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled along the lush banks of the Pomeroon River, my community is a vibrant blend of cultures and traditions. Growing up here, I've developed a deep appreciation for our local delicacies, from the aromatic pepperpot at Christmas time to the sweet, fresh fruits of the region. There's nothing quite like the feeling of enjoying a meal with family and friends, surrounded by the sounds of nature and laughter that echoes through our homes.

Living in Guyana, I have always felt a strong connection to our Caribbean roots. Our culture is rich with influences that reflect our diverse heritage, from the rhythmic beats of our music to the colorful festivals that bring us together. I cherish the moments spent with my neighbors, sharing stories and traditions, much like my friends in the diaspora who find a piece of home in their communities around the world. Whether it’s reminiscing about the warmth of Guyanese hospitality or enjoying a popular tune that resonates across borders, I carry a piece of Guyana wherever I go.

As I walk along the 31 Public Road, I am reminded of the beauty that surrounds usβ€”the sprawling landscapes, the calm waters of the Pomeroon, and the warmth of our people. My hope is to continue fostering connections within our community and beyond, celebrating our cultural identity and the deep-rooted bond we share as Guyanese, whether at home or across the globe. Together, let’s keep the spirit of our homeland alive, one story at a time.
