Hello! My name is Mukesh Gobin, and I'm proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, my roots run deep in this vibrant community, where the rich culture and warm hospitality of Guyana truly shine. As a porter, I have the pleasure of meeting people from all walks of life, sharing stories, and showcasing the beauty of our land, from the lush shores of the Pomeroon River to the aromatic spice markets that fill the air with the scents of curry and pepperpot.
Growing up in Guyana means I’ve celebrated our diverse heritage through our delicious cuisine—nothing brings people together quite like a plate of fried rice or a warm bowl of metemgee. I cherish the moments spent with family and friends, enjoying traditional dishes and reminiscing about our shared experiences. I often find myself laughing at the many quirks of life here, like how many still pronounce it "Gui-ana" instead of "Guy-ana"! It's these little things that make me proud to be Guyanese.
Through my work and community involvement, I aim to bridge connections within the diaspora and those who visit our beautiful country. Whether you’ve been to Guyana or dream of visiting someday, I welcome you to share in our culture, our stories, and the unforgettable experience that is life on the Essequibo Coast. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
